Welcome!

A Single Cup of Tea can change your day! Truly. Who you are with and where you share that cuppa makes all the difference to that moment.

In this blog, I'd like to offer an environment where that moment is heightened, savored, shared (or not), and remembered. I'll cover the basics to the bloody brilliant!

As the year winds to an end, you may fancy winding it up a notch with a pre-party beverage. Of course that pre-party can be just as you are about to leave home for the party, or winding it down with your own private party at home before the world parties.

RED MULLED WINE

(pronounced 'glue-vine')

serves 1-2

(so double or quadruple if need be)

1 full tumbler Red Wine (Merlot is good)

1 shot of Red Espresso (I prefer it made in an espresso machine, but it can even be done with a DIY tea bag)

cinnamon stick, short sprig/tip of one

couple cloves

nutmeg, freshly grated

Granny Smith apple, 1 quarter

orange rind, 1 quarter

2 Tblsp Honey (or more for desired sweetness)

One tumbler of red wine (Merlot is good)

Cinnamon stick, cloves and fresh nutmeg

Granny Smith apple & Citrus rind (here I only had mandarin available)

All the ingredients in a saucepan. Notice the fruit absorbed colour of the wine.  Mmmm.

I let this saucepan of yumminess simmer for about 10 min, and one can let it simmer even longer (if it lasts that long!).  The longer it's on the stove, the longer it seeps in the flavors.  Can you imagine how good the fruit will be too!

HAPPY NEW YEAR & ENJOY!

I'D LOVE TO HEAR HOW YOU GET ON WITH

RED GLUEWEIN!
