Smooth Brew

Wondering what else you have in your kitchen that you could use to brew espresso-ground rooibos tea?  Due to it's finer form than regular rooibos, the finer the mesh, the better the brew and less of the chew :-)  Some folk don't mind having a few tea leaves floating in their tea, and of course, it's not harmful either.  They would just be a little extra fibre in your diet.

This image shows an example of a fine mesh tea strainer (this particular one seen at Target) that can fit a mug, and some to-go, insulated mugs also come with these.  It provides the option of leaving it in the to-go mug if one prefers a really strong tea.  And Red Espresso®, espresso-ground rooibos, is not sensitive to brew temperature or time so they can remain in water for the desired strength that one prefers.  The tea's nutritional value and flavor will not diminish with prolonged brewing.  Wonderful, huh?!

Time to go put on the kettle...!

Wish upon a Star, a Staresso!

What on earth am I on about? Did I have a little too much espresso to make me blurry-eyed, wishing upon stars and espresso?

Maybe....

I had hoped that the handheld, portable coffee maker, Aeropress would fit the bill for making Red Espresso® on the go, show-off/posh style. But alas. It requires miniature paper filters inside it's chamber when pressing / filtering coffee.

Why can't Red Espresso® be used in an Aeropress, especially because Red Espresso® is espresso-ground rooibos tea able to play by coffee's rules? The big deal is that it can be enjoyed anyway one would coffee, and through any coffee appliance that does NOT use filter paper.  That only eliminates the filter paper pour-over and the Aeropress.  The reason being, is Red Espresso® is ground further than regular rooibos, so we get an increase in surface area and an increase in nutrients. Some of the grounds are so fine, they are powder.  The powder is just as nutritious as the grounds, if not more so, so why waste them left behind in the paper?

Welcome into our world of Red Espresso® tea wonder: The Staresso! No filter paper. All nutrients. All drink.  AND any drink you like. Anytime, anywhere.

What is a Staresso? It's SO cool! It's a red dot award-winning product.  Watch the video link below or go to the website : www.staresso.com

Where can I buy a Staresso? They retail on Amazon (don't forget to buy under Amazon.com/smile and chose a non-profit of your choice for a percentage of your purchase to go towards) for about $39.99.  I think that's great value when there's no additional monthly accessories required!

Have a look at the video link.  In the meantime, I'm off to my Amazon.com/smile bookmark...

Enjoy!

NOTE: . Red Espresso® swells with hot water, so don't overfill the chamber!

CAN A SINGLE CUP OF TEA MAKE 10 BARS OF SOAP?

CARLA CONNER OF CREATIVEARTH SOAPS PROVIDES THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION: YES, ONE CAN MAKE 10 BARS OF SOAP WITH A SINGLE CUP OF TEA!

I CANNOT STAND WASTE. AND HERE IN THE STATES THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT ONE CAN WASTE.  WHEN I FIRST INTRODUCED RED ESPRESSO TO ALBUQUERQUE, I WAS IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED ABOUT ANOTHER PRODUCT AND ITS WASTE GOING TO WASTE. I'VE EXPERIMENTED WITH VARIOUS WAYS TO EXTEND ITS USE BEFORE IT IS COMPOSTED IN EITHER OUR HOUSE PLANTS OR OUR DRY DESERT SOIL FOR A GARDEN.

ONE SATURDAY MORNING AT THE YOGA STUDIO I ATTEND, MI VIDA YOGA, ONE OF THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS/FELLOW YOGI, WAS POSITIONING HER HOMEMADE BARS OF SOAP IN A TINY CORNER OF THE RETAIL AREA AT THE FRONT OF THE STUDIO. THE SIMPLE, STRIKING NAME CREATIVEARTH SOAPS, STRUCK A CHORD WITHIN ME - ADD RED ESPRESSO, THE ROOIBOS PLANT FROM SOUTH AFRICA'S EARTH!

THE TINY LEAVES WOULD PROVIDE A FORM OF EXFOLIATION, AND THE BREWED TEA WOULD BE SOOTHING TO THE SKIN, WITH ITS IMMUNE-BOOSTING ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, AND ANTI-ALLERGIC PROPERTIES. WHA-LAH! NO MORE WASTE! AND ALL HEALTH AND GOODNESS TO A BAR!

CREATIVE ARTH SOAPS : NOw WITH ADDED RED ESPRESSO

CARLA TOOK THE 1/4 AMOUNT OF LEAVES, REBREWED THEM, AND SAVED THE LIQUID. THEN SHE DRIED THE LEAVES AGAIN (ON THE TOP OF AN ALREADY HEATED STOVE IN READY FOR COOKING A MEAL), FOLLOWED BY GRINDING THEM INTO A FINER LEAF. WHEN SHE FELT IT WAS AT THE PERFECT SIZE, SHE ADDED THE SMALLER GROUND LEAVES TO THE SAVED BREWED LIQUID AND ADDED IT TO HER SOAP MIXTURE.

THE TINY BROWN FLECKS ARE THE GROUND EVEN FINER, RED ESPRESSO LEAVES

THE TINY BROWN FLECKS ARE THE GROUND EVEN FINER, RED ESPRESSO LEAVES

THE RESULT : A BEAUTIFUL, EARTHY COLOR WITH VISIBLE SOUTH AFRICAN RED ESPRESSO ROOIBOS LEAVES ADDING TEXTURE WITHOUT THE ROUGH, AND ALL THE GOODNESS FOR HEALTHY SKIN.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CONTINUUM TO THE ROOIBOS LEAF!

THANK YOU CARLA, FOR BEING OPEN TO TRY SOMETHING NEW, AND FOR BEING SO TENDER AND RESPECTFUL TO THIS SOUTH AFRICAN PLANT!

A FRESH START - THE RED BASICS

In this entry, this is what we're going to strive for - a beautiful cup of pure, unadulterated red bush tea, or rooibos (pronounced roy-bos). But this rooibos has grown up, become elevated to a much richer, healthier and nourishing level.
